As we are all aware the Massachusetts Government has approved the Cash for Clunkers Program.  It will be called Mass Save Great Appliance Exchange.  The program dates will be from April 22 – May 5, 2010.  Listed below is what you the consumer must do in order to participate in this program.

1.  Appliance(s) must be installed at a Massachusetts residential address

2.  Must be replacing an existing, functioning, appliance or appliances

3.  Must go to http://www.masssave.com/GAX and use the online tool or call 1-877-MA SWAP1 (1-877-627-9271 ) to obtain a reservation number and rebate application form

  a)  Reservation numbers will be available from April 22 through May 5, 2010 or until funding is depleted – whichever comes first

  b)  Each reservation number is unique and cannot be used on a different appliance category than the one reserved

4.  Must purchase appliance(s) that meet the eligibility criteria

5.  Must purchase from a participating Massachusetts retailer; a list of qualified retailers will be posted on http://www.masssave.com/GAX beginning on March 22, 2010

6.  Purchase date for eligible appliance(s) must be from April 22 through May 5, 2010

7.  Must receive delivery of the appliance(s) and obtain a delivery/haul – away receipt that clearly indicates the old unit(s) were picked up

8.  Cannot pick-up/deliver the appliance themselves

9.  Each consumer is eligible for on (1) rebate per product category (up to a total of  four (4) rebates from the Exchange)

10.  The postmark date on the rebate application must be on or before June 19, 2010

REBATE SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS

Consumer must fully comply with the following submittal requirements or the application will be returned:

1.  Complete rebate application form (reservation number(s) will be pre-printed on the form); a single application can be submitted by a consumer who purchases appliances from more than one appliance category

2.  Include a copy of a recent electric bill with the account number for the installation address

3.  Include a copy of their sales receipt showing purchase date (must be within start & end dates for the Exchange), store address, brand name, complete appliance model number, and sales price for each product

4.  Provide a copy of the delivery document confirming old units were hauled away

Envelope must be postmarked on or before June 19, 2010

If the submittal is incomplete and additional information is necessary, the revised application must be POSTMARKED by June 19, 2010

Submittals that are fully compliant with all program requirements will be processed and payment mailed to customers within eight (8) weeks after receipt of their submittal.
